Men's Basketball takes off running
Louisburg College men's basketball defeated Central Carolina Community College on Monday. The final score was 103-80.
The Hurricanes got out to a quick 15-1 lead in the first four minutes, and even with a 13-0 run from Central Carolina the lead remained 28-18 after 8 minutes of play.
In the second half, Central Carolina got as close as 7 at the 12:00 mark when the score was 67-60, but Louisburg pulled away and outscored Central Carolina by 15 in the half.
Malik Bryant led the Hurricanes with 26 points on 11-14 from the floor. Freshman, Caleek Cobb, had a good night off the bench adding 14 points on 3-6 from the three-point line. Jordan White added 12 points.
Raja Milton led the Hurricanes with a season-high 7 assists. Anthony Harris had 5 steals and 4 offensive rebounds. Keonte Bradley also added 4 offensive rebounds.
"I was very pleased in our approach tonight," said Louisburg coach Bryan Bagwell. "We played together and we played extremely hard. In the past week, I have challenged our team to be more consistent on both ends of the floor and tonight was a step in the right direction."
The win moves Louisburg to 5-2 in Region X play and 5-3 overall.
Men's Basketball returns to action on Wednesday for a home match up against Guilford Technical Community College at 7 pm. In the first meeting this season, the Hurricanes won 98-83.
