Hurricane Men Separate from Central Carolina

Louisburg men's basketball came into Wednesday's contest off a loss to Brunswick Community College in the season opener. This time the Hurricanes took to the road once more, but were able to come out on top at Central Carolina Community College.

Louisburg got out to an early lead and never looked back. Central Carolina made several runs of their own--even cutting the Hurricane lead to 43-40 at the half--but they could not over come Louisburg's offense as the Hurricanes scored 55 in the second half to finish the game with a 98-83 victory.

In Central Carolina's first two games they averaged 20 made 3-point field goals a game, but Louisburg held them to only 5; while making 13 of their own.

Keonte Bradley led the team with 6 assists and finished second in scoring (13) to Malik Bryant who registered 25 on a perfect 11-11 from the FT line.

Justin Stephens was 3-4 from 3-point land, attempting 3 in a row against Central Carolina's zone.

Louisburg also aggressively attacked the basket. The Hurricanes got to the free throw line 27 times and converted on 21. Central Carolina only attempted 16 free throws.

"We played prepared, guarding them in the half court," commented coach Bryan Bagwell, "Our offense is what led to easy baskets for them. We have to continue to make better decisions."

The Hurricanes travel to Jamestown, NC on Saturday to take on Region X opponent Guilford Technical Community College at 3 pm.
