Spartanburg Methodist make last second shot to take down the Hurricanes

The Louisburg Men's Basketball team fell Tuesday night in a road contest at Spartanburg Methodist College, 68-67. The loss is the first of the year for the Canes and it came by way of some SMC late game heroics.

In a back and forth affair that neither team lead by more that 5, Seth McCoy hit a 3 pointer with 25 seconds left to cut the SMC lead to just 1.  The Hurricanes fouled on the ensuing possession sending the Pioneers to the charity stripe for a one and one. Following a missed front end, Jalen Gaddy made a layup w 8 seconds left in the game to give Louisburg a 1 point lead.  Spartanburg Methodist immediately inbounded ball and raced down the floor to hit a runner at the buzzer to sink the Canes.

Leading  scorers for the Hurricanes were Armoni Lee with 22, Jalen Gaddy with 17, and Jordan Oakley with 12.

Up next for Louisburg (4-1) is a weekend trip to Americus, GA for games against South Georgia Tech and Gordon State.
