Men's Basketball Picks Up Win At Pitt

In their first game after exam week, the men's basketball team traveled down the road to Pitt CC to face the Bulldogs in their home gym. The Canes came home with a well-earned victory, winning 94 to 80.

"Much better team effort today," said head coach Neil Dixon. "Our goals for the game were to play hard as heck and do it for each other. We have had those goals all year, but have gotten away from it as of late."

In a balanced offensive attack, it seemed as though the Canes were indeed playing for each other. Lots of passing the ball around meant lots of chances for all the guys on the floor.  Four Hurricanes ended up in double digits in the scoring column.  Locke led the team with 18, while Bougher, Gaddy, and Oakley all finished with 14, 13, and 12, respectively. "Pitt is always a tough place to play. They just won't quit," explained Dixon. "We got the lead out to 20 in the second half, and as usual Pitt came storming back. My guys did a good job of weathering the storm. We have to learn to how to win on the road - with a new team, everywhere we play is brand new for us."
