Louisburg College traveled to Athens, WV to face Hocking College at a neutral site on October 2. Louisburg lost 13-12.

Louisburg coach Quinderra Spellman comm"We're proud of how our young men competed today. It was a tough loss for our team. We battled throughout the game, but just fell short."

Hocking scored a field goal in the first quarter and the score remained 3-0 through half time. In the third quarter Jalen Brown had a touchdown reception for 8 yards, but the extra point was missed. Gavin Gundaker had 2 field goals (35, 41 yards) in the fourth quarter in the 1 point loss.

Quarterback Reed Charpia was 22-32 passing with 107 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. Damonte Furman had 7 receptions for 36 yards. Jake Riddle had 3 receptions. Marriyon Rogers, Jayden Flood-Brown, and Jalen Brown each had 2. Jeff Roberts had 3 rushes for 8 yards. Fred Foreman had 5 rushes for 3 yards.

Defensively Khalijah Jefferies, Jordan Farmer, and Devin Martin all had interceptions. Teddy Wilson, Jefferies, Diandre Sheridan, and Mikie Anderson had sacks. Hurricanes tackles for loss include: Diandre Sheridan (3), Wilson (2), Martin (1), Jakob Galluzzo (1), Xzavier Fields (1), George Jallah (1), Price Massey (1), Mikie Anderson (1), and Damier Whitaker (1).

Coach Spellmen continued, "We're going to watch the film and make the corrections needed. After tomorrow our focus shifts to our next opponent."

The Hurricanes next contest is against George Military College next Saturday at Cayce, SC. Kickoff is at 3 pm.
