Louisburg Football team ranked 18th in the latest poll in NJCAA

Following a dominating performance on Saturday in a 38-20 rout of Nassau Community College, the Louisburg College Football Team maintains it's top 20 national ranking.

Coming in at number 18 this week, the Hurricanes are riding a wave of emotion following the program's first ever win over Nassau. The Canes surrendered an early lead, going down 7-0 in the 1st quarter, but reeled off 31 unanswered points over the next 28 minutes of the game to build an insurmountable margin.

Through the first five games of their schedule, Louisburg has owned opponents on both sides of the ball. Averaging over 230 yards per game on the ground while giving up less than 50 per contest is just the beginning. They also average 217 yards through the air for a staggering nearly 450 yards per contest on offense.

Given the high octane and uptempo approach to offense, the defensive unit has been given a large task to keep opponents from scoring with limited rest. The defense has answered the bell all season long and is giving up less than 195 yards of total offense to opponents in spite of the fact that they are spending over 33 minutes per game on the field.

The Hurricanes will put their perfect record on the line again Sunday afternoon for a 2pm kickoff at Guilford College. Following that contest, Louisburg returns home for the final time this season in a homecoming matchup with Palmetto Prep.
