Beasley named Interim Manager of the Texas Rangers

On Monday afternoon Former Louisburg College baseball player, Tony Beasley, was named interim manager of the Texas Rangers. Beasley graduated from Louisburg in 1986 after playing for legendary coach Russ Frazier.

Beasley took the helm at the start of a series with the A's at Globe Life Field. He will hold that position for the remainder of 2022 replacing Chris Woodward.

The Rangers had a 51-63 record at the time of the transition and hope that Beasley will be a "stabilizing force" in the clubhouse.

Beasley commented, "I would love to see us go on a run here and make it interesting. That would be ideal, and I think we have the capability of doing that... I just want to see the players enjoy the game, embrace the culture and the clubhouse embracing each other. Being a Texas Ranger should be something special."

"He's going to be the same person, you know?" Shortstop Marcus Semien said of Beasley. "Yes, he has a new title, and there's some different responsibilities that he will have, but in terms of his attitude, and his willingness to do whatever he can for us, I'm excited for him."
