Baseball splits Weekend

Louisburg College baseball went 2-2 in a four game series with USC Sumter over the weekend.

In game one Louisburg won 13-2. The Hurricanes had 13 hits in the game. Eli Weisner was 3-3 with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Ahmaad Goldson was 2-2 with a run scored. Kody Abrisz added to the Hurricanes offense being 2-2 with 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. The winning pitcher was Tristan Snyder. He threw 5 innings, giving up 1 earned run and 3 hits, with 3 strikeouts.

In game two Louisburg lost 6-1. Chris Sparber had the lone RBI for the Hurricanes. Evan Suarez gave up 4 earned runs in the first two innings. He was the losing pitcher.

In the first game on Sunday Louisburg won 10-7 while overcoming 3 errors with 4 homeruns. Eli Weisner hit two long balls, while Chris Sparber and Kody Abrisz had one each. Louisburg starting pitcher Lane Roberson gave up 4 earned runs in 5 innings pitched and was able to walk away with the win.

In the last game of the weekend Louisburg lost 6-4. Eli Weisner went 3-4 with another homerun, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Brian Wilson was 2-3 with a homerun. JR Lingerfelt was 2-3. Jake Roberti started on the mound for the Hurricanes and took the loss while giving up 8 hits in 6.1 innings pitched. He struck out 8.

The Hurricanes will take the field again on Monday at home to face Methodist University JV. First pitch is at 4:00.
