Esports Inaugural Season

Louisburg esports began their inaugural season on September 20 and competed in a 9 week regular season. Students competed in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Warzone, FIFA, NBA2K, and Madden within the NJCAAE. 

In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War the Hurricanes narrowly missed playoffs with a 6-2 record. 

Louisburg's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War 4 man squad was captained by Jaylin White who according to Coach Fink who showed amazing leadership, "They had to jump right into the season after only a few weeks playing together, and their ability to work together as a team and learn from each other only grew as the season progressed."

Tyree Minor made it to the Call of Duty: Warzone championship match this season along with dozens of the other top players in the league. 

Yair Chavez was undefeated going into the quarter finals for FIFA21 but lost in a close series of games. James Holmes was also undefeated in Madden 21 until the quarter finals as well. The Hurricanes made it to the playoffs in NBA2k, but lost in round 1.

Coach Fink reflected, "With this being a new league experience for myself and the first time for any of our players, they played well and represented Louisburg College better than I could have ever hoped. I look forward to the spring season and the new titles and experiences that will bring."

Spring season for esports kicks off on February 7. Games that Louisurg will compete in have yet to be determined for that season as the NJCAAE has not released what titles they will include.
