Men's basketball overcame a slow start to defeat Southside Community College

In their season opener Friday night, Louisburg College Men's Basketball got off to a slow start against Southside Community College. Soon the Hurricanes tied the game at 27 with 8:00 to go in the half, and it was all Hurricanes from then on. Over the next 8 minutes the Hurricanes grew a 20 point lead. The game finished with a Louisburg victory 112-90.  

Leading scorers for the Hurricanes were Aaron Simmons with 26 and Jordan Beale with 16. Bass Diop contributed 14 rebounds including 7 offensive rebounds. 

Coach Bryan Bagwell commented, "It helped that we were able to get out in transition and get some easy baskets. I'm excited to watch us improve as we get more and more possessions together." 

The next contest is against Richard Bland at 4:00 Saturday afternoon in Roger Taylor Arena to be followed by a Davidson County Community College matchup against Southside Community College.
