Lady Canes volleyball lose in 4 sets to conference foe Pitt Community College

The hurricanes faced a tough challenge on the road at Pitt CC on Tuesday evening. Pitt came out and went on a domniating 9 point run to help finish off the first set. The hurricanes struggled to put a ball away and recieve serve in the 1st two sets. The canes battled late in the 3rd set to come from behind and pull out a tight 26-24 win with timely serving from Lindsay Kirby  and kills from McKenna Griffin.

Pitt went on a serving run midway in the 4th set and put the canes in a hole that they could not recover from and went on to lose 25-19.

Coach Garner noted " the group fought hard in the last two sets, but Pitt was better tonight. The conference has lot of good teams and we have to bring our best each night out. We have some big conference matches this month and we will need some conference wins to make the conference tourney."

McKenna Griffin had 28 kills on 55 attempts 

Rebecca Brown had 35 assists and 9 kills

Next match is 10/8 DIG PINK NIGHT , 6PM home match vs Cape Fear
