Lady Hurricanes volleyball starts season with a victory over Fayettevlle Tech

The canes came up with a 3-1 win over conference foe Fayetteville Tech on Tuesday night at the Roger Taylor Center.  The first two sets were tight from start to finish with Louisburg coming out with 25-23 wins in each set.

Fayetteville Tech stormed back in the 3rd set with strong serving and won 25-16. The canes regrouped in the 4th set and started out strong with Lindsey Kirby's tough serving.

McKenna Griffin came up with some big kills late in the 4th set to seal the win 25-22.

Coach Garner expects close matches in a tough Region X conference, "most of our conference opponents will battle and grind out matches, so we should expect lot of close sets and this was a good test. Glad we were able to handle some tough moments and bounce back from errors. We can take some confidence away from this match going into the Davdison CC match."

 

Louisburg was lead by Mckenna Griffin with 19 kills , Rebecca Brown 33 assists and timley aces from Lindsay Kirby during key stretches in the match.
