Women's Soccer Ends Regular Season with Win

The women's soccer team finished the regular season with a big win over first-year program Lenoir Community College. The win capped off a successful regular season for the Lady Hurricanes, with a 7-3-1 record. This was the program's first winning record since 2016.

Sophomore Alaina Rivera led the team with six goals on the day, collecting her fourth hat-trick of the season. Fellow sophomore Andrea Cazares and Freshman Morgan Jones also tallied hat-tricks of their own, scoring three goals each. Emma Pedraza, Melina Clark, Karina Rodriguez, Leslie Reyes, and Alexa Vidal also tallied a goal in the game. Sophomore defender Kimberly Pacheco rounded off the scoring with a penalty-kick goal. Goalkeeper Kathryn Robinson earned her fourth shutout of the season with the win, as well.

"We played with a lot of enthusiasm throughout the game," said Coach Chris Fresco, "we're looking forward to bringing more of that energy into the Region Tournament."

The Region X tournament begins on Thursday with an away trip to Wake Tech Community College.
