Women's basketball get 3rd conference win of the season over Guilford Technical CC

The Louisburg College women's basketball team traveled to Jamestown, NC for a Region X matchup with Guilford Technical Community College Thursday evening.  The Hurricanes jumped out to a 10-0 lead to start the game and never looked back.

"After a poor shooting performance in our last game, I challenged our players to get in the gym and get up as many shots as they could outside of practice," said Jason Rasnake, head coach of the Hurricanes.

Those extra reps paid off as Rasnake's team hit 15 baskets from behind the line. Bryn Aydt led the way with all 18 of her points coming from beyond the arc.  Emma Hales followed with 4 triples of her own.  By the end of the game 6 different Hurricanes made at least one three pointer.

"We know if teams play us in a zone we have to be ready to find the open shooter and have the confidence to knock it down," Rasnake continued.

Louisburg would go on to win 88-50 pushing them to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Region X play.  The Hurricanes return home Saturday at 1pm against Cape Fear Community College in the Taylor Center.
