Lady canes basketball comes up with close win over Brunswick CC 73-72

Basketball season is heating up with a couple of weeks left in the regular season. Louisburg is fighting to catch Cape Fear and Catawba Valley who sit 1st and 2nd in the conference.

Canes and Brunswick locked into a defensive battle early in the 1st quarter but the game opened up later in 1st half.  The lady canes played alot of full court press defense to cause Brunswick to turn the ball over and this helped create easy baskets. Canes also dominated the glass during stretches and got to the line to help build up a 6 to 8 point lead most of the game. The game got really close in the 4th quarter as Brunswick battled back to make things interesting at the Taylor Center.  Canes made a few timely plays to grab the win.

Shontai Totten led the canes with 26 points

Milequa Eason had 9 points and 7 rebounds

Current Record 17-3  conf record 12-3
