Hurricane Softball Nationally Ranked

The Louisburg College Softball Team has been voted into the Top 20 rankings nationally in the first weekly poll of the 2019 season released by the NJCAA today. This week the Hurricanes sit at Number 8.

"I'm really excited for our kids," commented second year head coach Eric Lee. "In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't mean a great deal in reaching our goals for the season. It does, however, give a sense of validation to our players for all the work they've been putting in to be recognized as one of the top teams in the nation."

The Canes currently sit at 9-2 on the season after sweeping a Region X matchup from Wake Tech over the weekend.

Louisburg has used offensive firepower to garner the national attention as they lead the country in home runs, are in the top 5 in Batting Average and in many other statistical categories sit among the nation's leaders.

The Hurricanes are off this week for midterms, but will return to action over the spring break week when they will play 8 games in a six day stretch.
