Garman, Clement Named Region X Player/Pitcher of the Year; Eight Hurricanes All-Region

SUMTER, SC - The 2018 Region X Awards Ceremony was held Friday night at the Region X Softball Tournament and eight Louisburg softball players were named All-Region.  The Hurricanes also swept the individual awards with Mary Anna Clement, a freshman from Oxford, NC, being named Region X Pitcher of the Year and Liv Garman, a freshman from New Castle, VA, taking Player of the Year honors.

Garman and Clement were joined on the First Team All-Region squad by Summer Phillips, a local product from Louisburg.

Five Hurricanes were named Second Team All-Region:

• Monica Pepe, a sophomore from Hickory, NC
• Sara Siwinski, a sophomore from Tampa, FL
• Savannah Jackson, a sophomore from Chesapeake, VA
• Abbi Colclough, a freshman from Oxford, NC
• K'Lea Parks, a freshman from Mocksville, NC

Louisburg will look to defend their crown at the Region X Tournament over the weekend.
