Cross Country Men Win 6th Straight Region X Championship

The Hurricanes Cross Country teams enjoyed a successful day on the course Saturday. The Men earned their 6th straight Region X title. They were led by sophomore Dennis McCheskey, who won the individual title. When asked about his win Dennis said, "It felt great to continue the winning streak for the individual title. The race played out pretty well for the team and I, picking up right where Kyle Hinson and our team last year left off is a good sign of what's to come at Nationals. Hopefully we can place in the top 15." The Hurricane men scored 23 points with 3 other team members joining McCheskey on the All-Region Team. The other All-Region runners were Henry Coddington finishing in 3rd, Dexter Hill right behind him in 4th, and followed by Burch Greene in 7th. Kyle Owino finished up the scoring for the Canes in 8th place, missing out on All-Region by one place.

The Women's team finished runner-up in the region capping off their season. The women had three of their five runners make the All-Region team. Adanna Thomas led the Lady Hurricanes in 3rd place, Alana Morgan finished next for the Canes in 5th, and Imperial Harris was the right behind Alana in 6th place rounding out the All-Region Lady Canes.
