Canes Close Out Strong Season at NJCAA D1 Nationals

The Louisburg College Cross country team finished their season strong at NJCAA nationals in Garden City Kansas Saturday.

The women's team finished a solid 31st as a team in their first appearance at the meet since 2015. The women were led by Imperial Harris for the first time this season, who came 127th. Imperial was followed by Halei Ward who came 170th. Rounding out the team was Hayley Euler , Adonna Thomas, and Makayla Ackerman.

The men's team came 12th with a freshman laden team. Kyle Hinson led the team for the final time this season finishing 8th overall, the highest in program history following Jack Mastandrea's 9th place finish in 2017 (now competing for University of Charleston). Coming in next for Louisburg was a trio of freshman in Andrew Inman, Walker Hirsch, and Albert Norman finishing 50th, 60th, and 64th respectively. Closing out the scoring was sophomore Anthony hall in 169th.

Coach Hayman was recognized as Atlantic coach of the year for the men following Kyle Hinson's athlete of the year claim.
