Canes Crush at VertCross Invitational

The Louisburg Hurricanes Men’s Cross Country team closed out the regular season at the VertCross Invitational hosted by High Point. The program finished an impressive 7th, competing against 18 Universities from around the region. 
 
East Tennessee St. won the team title with 36 points while the ‘Canes finished narrowly behind UNC-Greensboro, Marshall, and VMI with 157 points. The Men’s team beat out High Point, North Carolina A&T, Radford, and Presbyterian among others. 
 
Leading the team for the 3rd consecutive  race this season, Kyle Hinson finished in 9th place while turning in a strong performance of 25:34. Other athletes having a strong showing were Andrew Inman in 20th place (26:25), Walker Hirsch in 36th (PR, 26:50), and Albert Norman 39th (27:00). Closing out the scoring for the team was Anthony hall in 88th place. 
 
“I was very impressed with how our team competed today and I am confident in our potential heading into championship season” said Coach Hayman. “Kyle has really developed into the front runner we need and Walker made large improvements this week to help our pack.” 
 
The 9th ranked Men and 23rd ranked Women Louisburg Hurricanes next head to the Region X Championship on the 27th.
