Canes Compete At NC A&T

The 'Canes headed down the road to North Carolina A&T for the Aggie Invitational, competing against several prominent Division 1 and 2 programs and a NJCAA regional rival. Despite all the rain and delays, the Louisburg teams came away with good performances. 
 
Competition started Friday with Tayshaun Chisholm leading the way in the 110 hurdles to finish 6th overall and a new school record of 14.33. This is the 3rd time he has reestablished the record. 
 
The other major performance of the night came from Qua-Ronz Robinson in the 800 meter run. Qua-Ronz continues his streak of improving his time every single meet so far this season and runs to a 9th place finish overall in 1:54.67. He also went on to run the 400 the next day and lead the team with a 50.76 performance. Another performance of note came from Zaire Jordan who ran the 800 in a personal best of 2:00.26, narrowly missing breaking the 2 minute barrier for the first time. 
 
From the Women's program Adanna Thomas also competed the 800 and ran an personal best of 2:34.95 and acquires the school record by over 4 seconds. Tamiyah Megginson raced the 100 meter and missed out on a school record of her own by only .01 to run 12.69. She also ran to a personal record of 26.03 in the 200 meter to lead the "Canes. 
 
In the Saturday, competition despite 2 hours of weather delays, the 'Canes competed strongly. Jamison Kyles led the way in the shot put with a 9th place finish and a throw of 12.91 meters to establish a new personal best. 
 
On the track, Tyler Burns led the way in the 200 meter with a run of 22.82. 
 
In the 400 meter hurdles Tayshaun Chisholm led the way in 58.27 despite losing a shoe midway through the race. 
 
Finally, on the women's track side, Ashley Pearce led the way in the 400 meter, running to a 1:00.09 to come 3rd in her heat. 
 
The 'Canes head straight back into competition this upcoming week at the Duke Invitational.
