Men's Soccer Shuts Out Wake Tech

Louisburg College men's soccer hosted Wake Tech on October 18. The Hurricanes won the match 5-0.

The Hurricanes took 10 shots in the first half and 9 shots in the second. The Hurricanes had 7 corner kicks.

Luis Marin scored unassisted at 5:00 in the 1st half to make it 1-0 Hurricanes. Gabriele Amore scored at 15:00 to make it 2-0. Luis Marin scored at 27:00 for the third Hurricane goal on a Botelho de Piccoli assist. In the second half Luigi Botelho de Piccoli was assisted by Zachary Castor at 48:00. Luis Marin was assisted by Gabriele Amore for his 3rd and the team's 5th and final goal of the match.

Defensively, Louisburg goalie Eric Winkler had 7 saves on 7 shots on goal.

"I'm really proud of our group for getting a great result in our last regular season match," said  Louisburg head coach Matthew Mozynski. "Putting away 5 goals and keeping a shutout is a big momentum builder for us. Hopefully, this gives us confidence going into the playoffs."

The Region X tournament begins next week and the Hurricanes' opponent is still to be determined.
