Men's soccer team lose 1st pool play match at NJCAA National Championships

Illinois Central College took down men's soccer 2-1 today in pool play from Tyler, TX.

 

Illinois Central forward, Juan Rosique, was able to score early, and the Hurricanes went into halftime trailing 1-0. Lorenzo Battagliarin was able to make it 2-0 Illinois Central at 66:49. 

 

Despite only having three Illinois Central shots on goal the Cougars were able to convert twice against the Hurricanes defense.

 

Marko Mitrevski, Lucca Toldeo, Ethan Circhlow, Omar Cruz, and Bachirr Nidaye all had shots on goal. However Hiro Kusa was the lone Hurricane to find the back of the net in the loss.

 

Head Coach Ted Awana and the Hurricanes will take on Arizona Western in the 3rd day of pool play, Wednesday at 1:30 pm EST.
