Canes Get By Patriots, 81-72

The Louisburg College men's basketball team used a second half surge to push past Patrick Henry Community College Saturday afternoon inside Roger Taylor Arena.  The Canes picked up their 20th win of the season, improving to 20-4 overall and 13-2 in Region X play, as well as improving to a perfect 13-0 inside Roger Taylor Arena on the season.

The Hurricanes continued their first half struggles and trailed at the half 31-26, but trailed by as many as twelve in the opening period. Strong efforts from Denzel Fuller and Raekwon Dean kept Louisburg in it headed to the intermission.

"I challenged our toughness at the half," said third year head coach Neil Dixon. " We have to be ready for everyone's best shot and too often we aren't.  I have to take ownership of that."

The Canes used a 55 point second half to push past the upset-minded Patriots.  Jordan Oakley led the way with 25 points on the day and was joined in double figures by Armoni Lee (12), Mikeil Watkins (10) and Jalen Gaddy (10).

Louisburg will return to action on the road against Fayetteville Tech on Monday.  Tip off is set for 7pm.
