Louisburg Downs Lenoir CC In Mid-Week Action

It only took Louisburg (22-18) six innings on Wednesday to make short work of Lenoir Baseball. The Canes tallied 15 hits and scored 16 runs.

Lenoir struck first, scoring in the top of the opening inning. LC answered quickly though, plating 9 unanswered runs in the bottom of the second and third. The Lancers would try to get back in the game in the fourth when the thirdbaseman Hooks would hit a three-run homerun.

The Canes shined offensively. Bret Baldwin was 3-for-4, scoring 3 runs and driving in two. Toby Buchanon was also 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored. The walkoff win in the bottom of the 6th came off the bat of Zacchaeus Rasberry. The scene was set with two singles by Buchanon and Baldwin, and then Zach Moore was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Rasberry, in a 3-0 count, took the first strike he saw and drove it over the fence for a grand slam  to extend the Canes' lead to 10.

Louisburg stays at home this Friday and Saturday to host Region opponent USC Lancaster in a four-game seies. First pitch on Friday is slated for 1pm.
